Turkey provides school education free for its citizens in state schools. The higher education is administered by The Council for Higher Education (YOK). Higher education fall in three categories :
1- Universities, 2- Military and Police colleges and academies 3- vocational schools
For higher education a student must pay a prescribed fee. For financially deserving students state provide scholarships so that they may continue their education. There are 94 public and 38 foundation universities in Turkey.
Faculty
Higher level education is the responsibility of faculty. Departments and schools operate under the supervision of faculties. A graduate school or institute in a university or faculty is concerned with graduate study, scientific research and applied studies in more than one related subject area.
