Hong Kong Shue Yan University

Hong Kong Shue Yan University came into being in the year 1971 as Hong Kong Shue Yan College. Later in 2006, it was granted full university status. The University is claimed to be the first private liberal arts university in Hong Kong. The university aims to cater the societal needs of Hong Kong and promotion of spirit of humanity. The university uses both languages Chinese and English as the medium of instructions. 

Programs and Courses

Bachelor of Arts with Honours: Journalism and Mass Communication, Chinese Language and Literature, Economics & Finance, English Language and Literature and History. Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours: Counselling & Psychology, Psychology and Sociology. Bachelor of Commerce with Honours: Accounting (Professional Recognition: HKICPA, United Kingdom's ACCA, CIMA, AIA, Canadian CMA, CGA) and Law & Business. Bachelor of Social Work with Honours: (Graduates of the BSW Programme are eligible to apply for registration as Registered Social Workers with the Social Workers Registration Board.). Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours: Financial Services & Planning Concentration, Marketing Concentration, Human Resource Management Concentration and China Business Studies Concentration. Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Psychology: Counselling Psychology. 

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The applicants who have HKDSE education must have minimum level 3 in English and Chinese, level 2 in Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one elective subject. However, those who have education in HKALE must have AS level in Chinese language & Culture, English and one a level subject in HKALE. If the applicant doesn’t possess any of the mentioned qualification than other qualifications include Hong Kong Associate Degree Holder or GCE and GCSE or other equivalent qualification.
