North Eastern Hill University

North Eastern Hill University was established in the year 1973 through an Act of Parliament, which means that it is a Central University. The university is situated in the city of Shillong which is the capital of Indian State of Meghalaya. The university aims to provide advance education and knowledge in order to facilitate the society. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has categorized the university under ‘A’ grade. There are 53 colleges affiliated to the university.

School of Human & Environmental Science (Anthropology, Rural Development & Agricultural Production (at Tura), Geography, Environmental Studies).

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The candidate should have passed the intermediate education in order to get the admission in the undergraduate programs and for the admissions in the postgraduate programs, a bachelors degree is necessary for some fields. It is necessary to give the entrance test. Moreover, the seats for foreign students are limited and they should have at least 55% marks to get admission in the undergraduate courses and a bachelor’s degree for the admissions in the postgraduate.
