Nagpur University

Nagpur University was established in the year 1923 in the city of Nagpur which is in the Indian State of Maharashtra. The university is one of the strictest in the Country, with high academic assessment. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has categorized under the ‘A’ grade.

Programs and Courses

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Following are the faculties along with their respective departments.
Faculty of Arts includes Department of Marathi,Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Hindi, English,Linguistics, Foreign & Indian Languages , Fine Arts. Faculty of Science includes Biochemistry, Geology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, Statistics, Microbiology, Electronics and Computer Science, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering.
Faculty of Law includes Post Graduate Teaching Department of Law. Faculty of Social Science includes Political Science, Public Administration, Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology , Library and Information Science , History , Economics , Philosophy , Sociology , Psychology , Mass Communication , Gandhian Thought , Dr. Ambedkar Thought , Travel and Tourism. Faculty of Commerce includes Department of Business Management and Commerce.
Faculty of Home Science includes departments of Home Science.
Faculty of Education includes Department of Education, Physical Education.
Faculty of Medicine includes Department of Pharmaceutical Science. Other departments includes Director, Physical Education, Center for Adult Education and Continuing and Extension Services, National Social Service Scheme, Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility, University Science Instrumentation Centre, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chair, Inter Institutional Computer Centre, Rajiv Gandhi Biotechnology Centre, Centre for Sericulture and Biological Pest Management Research , Technology Transfer Centre, Jansamvad, Centre for Women Studies.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

In order to get admission in the undergraduate department, an individual needs to have intermediate education. Admissions are awarded on merit basis and through admission test. Apart from this, an individual should possess bachelor’s degree in order to get admission in the postgraduate programs. University conducts common entrance test for all programs.Admission will be based on the result of entrance test.
