Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya

Jai Prakash University came into being in the year 1990. The University is situated in the Chapra which is in the Indian State of Bihar. Jai Prakash University is regarded as one of the prominent universities in Bihar. The University has more than 10 colleges affiliated to it.

Programs and Courses

Jai Prakash University offers programs ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate including intermediate programs. Following are the faculties along with their respective departments. Faculty of Social Sciences has Department of Economics, Department of History, Department of Political Science, Department of Psychology, and Department of Geography. Faculty of Science has Department of Botany, Department of Zoology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, and Department of Mathematics. Faculty of Commerce has Department of Commerce. Faculty of Humanities has Department of Hindi, Department of English, Department of Sanskrit, Department of Urdu and Department of Philosophy.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Candidates wishing to get admission in the intermediate programs must clear the matriculation successfully. Admissions are awarded on merit. The eligibility criteria for undergraduate programs require an individual to have intermediate successfully cleared with at least 45% marks. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in order to get admission in the postgraduate programs. For foreign students the criteria for admission is GRE = 280.
