Gujarat Ayurved University was established according to an Act of 1965 that was passed by Gujrat State legislative Assembly. University was established in 1967. It is the first revolutionary university for Indian and international students. Gujarat Ayurveda University is a center of attraction for international students as it is premiere institute in Ayurveda. International students such as from Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Nepal come there to get admission in post graduate programs. The university has introduced its three-month introductory course in 1990 at Ayurveda. Students from Denmark, Myanmar, South Africa, Turkey, Israel, Italy, Finland, Korea, Russia, Poland, UK, Reunion Island, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Russia, Malta, Canada, USA, Netherlands, Switzerland, Iceland, England, Poland and Germany have come there to attend the classes of numerous courses. After that, university has broadened its scope for international students in all of its courses. University has introduced many new programs fro international students in 1998.
