The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts

The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts was established in the year 1984. The academy is regarded as one of the leading institution of Higher Arts education in Asia. The academy enrolls 750 students in its full-time programs and around 770 persons in junior programs annually.

HKAPA has many schools that offer a variety of certificate to degree programs.  The employment ratio of HKAPA graduates in top grade jobs is higher than any other institute in Hong Knog.

School of Dance

Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Dance 4 years, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Dance 3 years and Diploma in Dance 2 years.

School of Drama

Master of Fine Arts Degree in Drama, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Drama 4 years and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Drama 3 years. School of Film and Television: Master of Fine Arts in Film Production, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Film and Television 4 years and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Film and Television 3 years.

School of Music

Master of Music Degree, Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree 4 years, Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree 3 years and Diploma in Music 2 years.

School of Theater and Entertainment Arts

Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theater and Entertainment Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Theatre and Entertainment Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Theater and Entertainment Arts and Fast-track Vocational Certificate in Theater and Entertainment Arts. Chinese Traditional Theater, Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts (Cantonese Opera), Diploma in Performing Arts (Cantonese Opera), Advanced Certificate in Performing Arts (Cantonese Opera) and Certificate in Performing Arts (Cantonese Opera).

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Those who have HKDSE education must have level 3 in English and Chinese language, level 2 in Mathematics and Liberal studies and level 2 in one elective subject, these requirements are for admission in four year undergraduate program. For admissions in the 3 year undergraduate programs must have obtained Grade E or above in 5 subjects in Examination (HKCEE). Moreover, the candidate should have bachelor’s degree in order to get admission in the postgraduate programs. Foreign students should meet the above mentioned requirements.
