Tezpur University was established in the year 1994. The university is situated in the city of Tezpur which is in the Indian state of Assam. Tezpur University is a Central university. The objectives of Tezpur University include the promotion of culture of the state, development of society through education, disseminating the education into the masses etc.

The university comprises of four schools which have different departments. School of Engineering has Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Comm. Engineering, Energy, Food Engineering and Technology and Department of Mechanical Engineering. School of humanities & Social Sciences has Department of Cultural Studies, English and Foreign Languages, Mass Comm. and Journalism, Sociology and Hindi. School of Management Sciences has Department of Business Administration and Center for Disaster Management. School of Science has Department of Chemical Sciences, Environmental Science, Mathematical Sciences, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Physics.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Undergraduate programs require an individual to have intermediate education to be eligible for applying in any course. Apart from that, postgraduate programs require an individual to have bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute. University conducts GATE test in order to get admission in all programs offered by the university.
