Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidayalaya was established in the year 1981. The university is situated in Puri which is in Odhisha. There are many affiliated colleges to the university in the region. The university’s main focus is on the studies of Sanskrit language.
SJSV is a hall mark for the revival of the rich tradition of Sanskrit language and literature, which was on the edge of disappearance. The university promotes and encourages research for Sanskrit.

Following are the departments in which the courses are offered. Dharmasastra, Nyaya, Sahitya, Sarvadarshan, Veda, Vyakaran, Advaita Vedanta, Jyotirvigyan, Physical Education, Computer Application and Siksha Shastri.

Admission Procedure 2017 - 2018

In order to get the admission in the undergraduate courses, an individual is required to have intermediate education. Apart from that, for the postgraduate courses, one should have a bachelor’s degree. Students should pass admission test conducted by university.
