University of Petroleum and Energy Studies was established in Dehradun which is a part of Indian state of Uttarakhand, in 2003. It is the first Energy University of the country. In a short time span, the university has achieved a lot. For instance, it is the first Indian energy university to start Bio-Diesel Lab and it is also authorized by the Energy Institute, United Kingdom. The University’s motive and aim is to provide world class education in the field of Energy and Petroleum. The university is dividing into three colleges namely, College of Engineering Studies, College of Management & Economic Studies and College of Legal Studies.
