The University of Peradeniya was established in the year 1942 as the University of Ceylon but it was transformed in University of Peradeniya in the year 1978. The university imparts education in variety of fields ranging from Medicine, Agriculture, Engineering. Etc. The university also has collaboration with many international institutions.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The university requires an individual to clear the GCE Advanced Level examination with minimum Z score test in order to award admission in the undergraduate programs. Departments have their own requirements for the admission in the postgraduate programs. Foreign students should have minimum GRE score of 320.
It is not necessary that all G. C. E. successful students are admitted to the universities. Hence, the competition for admission is very intense. Final merit list of selected candidates is developed on the basis of the aggregate of test and academic marks.
