Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University was established in the year 1997. The university is situated in the city of Chennai which is in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The university is named after Indian jurist Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The objective if the university is to provide prime education in the field of Law. Moreover, the university aims to spread knowledge and wisdom through education in the society. There are seven governments and one private college affiliated to the university.

Programs and Courses

The School of Excellence in Law was established to focus on undergraduate education. There are two departments in this school namely, Department Of Law and Department Of Humanities And Social Sciences. At the postgraduate level, the university offers advanced degrees through its Departments of Law. The advanced degree programs offered include Business Law, Constitutional Law and Human Rights, Intellectual Property Laws, International Law and Organizations, Environmental Law and Legal Order, and Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

In order to get the admission in the undergraduate program, an applicant should complete intermediate education successfully. Moreover, for the admission in the postgraduate programs, an individual must have a bachelor’s degree in Law (three-year / five-year) from a recognized institute. University conducts qualifying exams according to Govt. rules and regulations.Students should pass those qualifying exams in order to take admission in various programs of the institute.
