Sri Krishnadevaraya University came into being in 1981. The university is situated in the city of Anantapur which is in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The university is named after Sri Krishnadevaraya, who was the Emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire. There are more than 50 colleges affiliated to the university in the region. The main of the university is to disseminate education and knowledge in society for socio-economic development.

Programs and Courses

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Following are the faculties along with their departments:
Faculty of Language & Literature includes English & Comparative Literature and Telugu.
Faculty of Social Science includes Adult, Continuing Education, Economics, History, Political Science & Public Administration, Rural Development & Social Work, Sociology, Education, and Library & Information Science.
Faculty of Physical Science includes Chemistry, Computer Science & technology, Electronics, Instrumentation & USIC, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Education & Sports, Polymer Science & Technology and Statistics.
Faculty of Law includes department of Law.
Faculty of Management includes Commerce
Sri Krishnadevaraya Institute of Management.

Admission Procedure 2017 - 2018

If the candidate wishes to get admission in the undergraduate programs, he should have intermediate education and should pass the EAMCET which is the central examination test. Another test is required to pass which is known as SKUCET, if the candidates wish to get admission in the postgraduate programs.If students want to get admission in MBA and MCA programs, they need to pass common Entrance test known as (ICET) Students should pass qualifying exams in order to get diplomas or other general courses offerd by university.
