Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit was established in 1993 in the village named Kalady, which is in the Indian state of Kerala. The university is basically a research oriented institution but it also offers academic courses mainly regarding Sanskrit and Indology. The mission and objective of the university is to promote the Sanskrit language, promotion of research projects in Indology and taking appropriate measure to persevere the old documents in Sanskrit language. The university has many regional centers.

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma/certificate and doctoral courses in the following departments.
Ayurveda, Dance, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Malayalam, Music, Painting, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit Nyaya, Sanskrit Sahitya, Sanskrit Vedanta, Sanskrit Vyakarna, School of Vedic Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Theatre, Urdu and Vastuvidya.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Admissions are awarded through examination test. However, one must successfully clear the intermediate education in order to apply for undergraduate or certificate/diploma courses and bachelor’s degree is required for the admission in the postgraduate courses.In order to get admission in all undergraduate and post graduate programs, students are required to pass entrance test conducted by university.
