Established in 1955 Ranchi, by a renowned industrialist Mr. B.M. Birla - Birla Institute of Technology is one of the most prominent engineering universities of India. Its main campus sprawl over 780 acres of land. Moreover, Birla Institute of Technology has extended in other cities as well which includes Allahabad, Kolkata, Noida, Jaipur, and Chennai, Patna and Deoghar and branches in foreign countries namely Bahrain, Oman, UAE and Mauritius. Day by Day, the administration of the university is trying their level best to make it world-class university. The Birla Institute of Technology has collaborated with many national universities as well as international collaborations.
Programs and Courses
Birla Institute of Technology offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It has 21 departments and BIT offers undergraduate program in following fields.
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) includes Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical & Polymer Engineering, and Production Engineering. University also offers Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy), Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), B.Sc. in Food Processing Technology (B.Sc. FPT) and BIT also offers postgraduate programs ME, M.Pharm, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, MUP, MTPM, MSc, PhD.
